European
Validation Association
Since 1982 when Feil published her first book, the interest in and use of Validation has increased at a fast pace. Feil founded the Validation Training Institute (VTI) in 1983 with a professional Board of Directors in order to provide the support and structure she found necessary. Since then Validation Training Institute, a U.S. based, not-for-profit organization, has progressively developed certification levels, training programs and has formed a network of national or regional Validation organisations. Naomi Feil is VTI's Executive Director. Vicki de Klerk-Rubin is the European Manager.
The goals of VTI are to disseminate information, train interested individuals and maintain "the spirit of Validation". Validation is now being practised throughout Europe. There is a need to provide information and training in each country in their own language. For this reason VTI works with Authorized Validation Organizations (AVO's).
These organizations are contracted with VTI to provide information, training and to protect Validation. In principle, each AVO has at least one certified Validation Teacher or Master who can offer quality training programs to interested individuals in the region. Information which is distributed by VTI is translated into the regional language and made available. New publications and materials are also created by AVO's, dependant on the needs of the local clients. Each AVO develops its own menu of products and services. VTI offers support, advice and checks the quality of what is offered.
